Pay: This is a non-paid internship that will run for 10 weeks.

Learn how to create and maintain websites for your clients using self hosted WordPress.

This is for you who: want to offer design and WordPress customization services in your business and need real hands on practice.

Prerequisite Skills::

• Basic HTML knowledge

• Basic CSS knowledge

• Basic Search Engine Optimization knowledge

• A graphic design program such as Photoshop and Photoshop Elements and good knowledge on how to use it

• A good sense of colors and layout

• A willingness to produce great designs

• A basic knowledge of WordPress.org

• You must own a fast, reliable computer and have a high speed internet connection.

• You will sign a non-disclosure agreement.

The intern position requires an investment of 10-15 hours per week (learning and working) for ten weeks and can turn into a long-term paid position. When you do the majority of your work is not important but you must have at least five hours a week available in the morning or afternoon during the business week. Weekly assignments will be given for you to complete. It is important you have access to Skype for our meetings.

When the Internship is finished you will be able to offer your services to clients either as a VA or Web Designer.

Skills to be learned include:

• Design basics and beyond

• Installation and Setup of WordPress

• Installation and usage of plug ins

• Customizing a WP Theme

• How to back up and keep a WP site secure

• Search Engine Optimization basics

Throughout these ten weeks you will create various graphics and receive feedback on them. We will discuss design and how to create a design your clients will love. You will learn how to customize WordPress for your clients so no site looks the same.
